For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...
Mark 10:45

Serve in our church
within our church there is a variety OF committees to keep everything running.
Let us know if you have any special SKILLS or just a desire to help.
Most committees are nominated for 2 years to serve our church family. You can let a nominating committee member know you are interested in serving, and they will find a place for you when an opening arises. Call Missy in the church office for the current nominating committee names. You can also obtain a list of all committees and their members. Committees range from the kitchen committee, to the flower committee, to the audio-visual committee, etc. There is definitely a place for YOU to use your strengths & gifts.
More Volunteer Opportunities
Disaster Relief
SC Baptist Disaster Relief comes to aid people after a disaster strikes, whether it be fire, flooding, tornado, or hurricane. Our Disaster Relief Team has a chainsaw trailer and a wood chipper. We travel to sites to clean up after the storm and remove trees from houses and cars. We never accept payment or donations, and many traumatized homeowners cannot understand why. Grassy Pond Baptist shows up to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to help people physically and spiritually, who are going through some of their worst days. With training, everyone at Grassy Pond Baptist Church is welcome to participate in this ministry!
Handyman Ministry
The Handyman Ministry helps people who cannot help themselves. We have built permanent wooden wheelchair ramps at numerous homes in Cherokee County. Aluminum ramps allow for a quick installation for people with a temporary ramp need, such as those recovering from surgery. The Handyman Ministry also has a work trailer and performs minor home repairs for the church. The work trailer is also used each year to support the Jerusalem Project.
GAP
GPBC is partnered with Grassy Pond Elementary School. Our Backpack Ministry provides food to elementary students on extended weekends and holidays. Our GAP (Gator Assistance Program) provides school supplies, clothes, and Christmas gifts. We assist with the cost of field trips, fundraisers, Kona Ice, and special events to ensure no child is left out of an activity.
Helping feed people
We provide lunch on the 5th Saturday of the month at our local Soup Kitchen. You can help by volunteering to make the meals or serving at the Soup Kitchen. The Kitchen is owned and operated by the Salvation Army.
Meals on Wheels delivers meals to homebound seniors and we have a group that covers several routes once a month. They are always looking for more help and you can also contact Meals on Wheels directly.
