AWANA

The AWANA club, which stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, is a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. Each AWANA ministry has three main activities during the club meetings: handbook time, game time and council time. Snacks are provided as well. More information can be found at www.awana.org.

The church missions organization of WMU for preschoolers is called Mission Friends. Their primary objective is to provide a strong foundation for preschoolers in a Christian and missions lifestyle. During Cherub Choir, preschoolers enjoy exploring the world of music. They have a great time learning about God and His Son, Jesus through music. More information can be found at www.MissionFriends.com.

Girls in Action

Girls in Action, or GAs for short, is a comprehensive WMU missions education program, for girls in grades 1-6. Through participation in GAs, girls grow in their knowledge, understanding and application of the Bible. They also learn from the example of missionaries, believers, and hands-on mission action what it means to actively engage in ministering to others with the compassion of Christ. By hearing about missionaries in many different places, the GAs discover that God’s mission is worldwide. By doing missions themselves, they learn that they have a responsibility to change the world. They meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. For more information, please visit www.GAPassport.com.

Royal Ambassadors

The Royal Ambassadors, or RAs, is a Bible-centered, church-based, Southern Baptist missions-learning ministry for boys in grades 1-6. The ministry involves boys learning about missions through weekly meetings, mission projects, interest activities, meaningful relationships, and an advancement plan. For more than 100 years, Southern Baptists have accomplished this in RAs through a mentoring relationship of Christian men to boys. They meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Visit, www.RoyalAmbassadors.org for more information.

Jerusalem Project

Jerusalem Project is designed as a local mission effort to help those in our “Jerusalem” that may not be able to help themselves (whether physically or financially) for one week each summer. However, in serving others, we are teaching our students and adults that we, as individual churches, can and should work together for the cause of Christ. The youth and volunteers help members of our community with small projects such as building wheelchair ramps, while sharing the Gospel through word and deed. All of the projects are free to the members of our community in need. The project is based on Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Please visit jpministry.com or check out our Facebook page, “Jerusalem Project” for more information and this summer’s dates!
